Why buying Tiguan is a good choice?
No other vehicle actually created such a buzz than TIGUAN in the Volkswagen family. Probably the design, the look and apart from all the brand value of Volkswagen have all fell in line to make the Tiguan a real roaring beast on the roads, especially on Indian roads. Apart from the above said, here are also the reasons that make buying Tiguan the best bet.
Passenger space:
No matter wherever you sit, be it in the back seats or the front seats the comfort never changes. The best seating comfort is guaranteed equally in all the 5 seats. There is plenty of leg and headroom both in the rear and front. In addition, you find N number of optional extras that make your life in the car more than comfortable. This is the advantage the car carries in addition to the other cars of its kind. Most of the 5-seat cars have lesser room at the rear and so come with lesser comfort at the mid-rear seat in comparison to the rest of the two but this isn’t the case with our Tiguan. There are many useful cubbyholes upfront inclusive of a coolbox – for storing your things, and also under seat drawers for occupants at the front seats, on SE-trim variants and higher.
Storage space:
The boot of the Tiguan is as large as flexible, and it is one of the bigger boots in its kind, giving more room than that of many others said a service expert of a leading Volkswagen service center Hyderabad. There is a sliding back bench, which augments the boot space considerably along with a modifiable boot floor and net partitions on variants over and above the entry model.
Security and safety:
Being a premium-end car one can easily understand that the safety and security are high-above than normal ones. The emergency braking system, ABS, 6 airbags, hill assist, and Active Hood give the best security and safety.
Behind wheel:
In Tiguan behind the wheel is a predominantly good place to be – the dashboard is spread out in characteristically instinctive VW style, connoting there is no requirement for the steering wheel to be button-heavy. The pedaling system is positioned nicely.
Refinement:
Volkswagen is known for its rich technology breakthrough and this can be felt in the Tiguan. No matter whether you are in Highline or Comfortline you can feel the richness and refinement of technology and comfort zone. Silent & powerful engine, panoramic sunroof, rain sensing wipers and apart from all the toughness of Volkswagen body, a Volkswagen specific all make you feel the refined Volkswagen drive. It also has good ground clearance making it feel like a full-SUV rather than a compact one.
Adding all to the above, the goodness also comes to it from the fact that Volkswagen Tiguan has the advantage of Volkswagen service centers that are available across the nation at strategic points.

Hyundai Tucson vs Volkswagen Tiguan Comparison
Although Volkswagen calls the Tiguan as a competitor to small German SUV’s, the SUV comes in as a direct opponent to Hyundai Tuscon as both seem to have the same structural look and size. Here is a quick comparison of the two cars in case you are considering on buying one of the SUVs.
Design
When it comes to the feel and look Tuscon grabs your attention more than Tiguan. From the dynamic wheel arches to the pulled back-lamps, SUV definitely has a handsome face. The rear tail lamps however could have been more refined.
Tiguan on the other hand has big and full LED headlamps but the design of the bumper and grille are quite cowed. However, the metal work on the door handles, chrome strip on bumper and tail lamps with hockey shape have quite a clean and graceful. Overall attractive but Tuscon still has an upper hand.
Tiguan has a dark interior, the upholstery is black while the dashboard is dark grey. Tuscon has used a beige and black theme because of which the car feels more spacious. The sunroof and large windows used by Tiguan also makes it more airy both of which is absent in Tuscon. Both SUV’s have leather upholstery but that of the Tiguan is more luxurious.
There is an Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatible touchscreen device along with a full colour multi-information display in both the cars. While both have powered driver seats along with lumbar support which is adjustable and heated extended mirrors, memory function, heated function in front seats and wing mirrors are what Tiguan has.
Tiguan has more knee room yet Tuscon is wide and the transmission tunnel is less invasive which gives it an added point as a three-seater. The seats of Tuscon are more comfortable compared to that of Tiguan. Tuscon has a boot space of 513 litres while Tiguan has 615 litres. The cabin of Tuscon is of good quality but that of Tiguan is better and a step ahead. Even the smallest details have been finished with great care giving it a premium feel.
Tiguan from Volkswagen takes a lead in terms of features and design.

State of Play
Tiguan comes only in the diesel variation so the discussion would be based on the 2.0 litre turbo diesel variants. Hyundai made a debut of their 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine in Tuscon and it seems to be quite sturdy. It generates 185hp and 400Nm of torque. It also has a six speed automatic/manual gearbox the performance of which is quite smooth. A drawback however is whenever the throttle is lifted the revs (speed measured in revolutions per minute) plunges down to 1,000 rpm each time. The motor of Tiguan generates 143hp and 340Nm of torque and has a seven speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The engine sound can be heard from outside but it is quiet from the cabin, lesser noise compared to Tuscon. The motor rev is quite responsive and the shifters move gracefully to your command.
Tiguan features a Haldex style all wheel drive system while Tuscon is front wheel drive. There are three driving modes in Tuscon – Eco, Noral and Sport but lacks adjustability although the performance is quite strong. Tiguan has four driving modes – Normal, Snow, Off-road and Off-road individual all of which are controlled through a rotary dial near the gear changer. With Tiguan one can enjoy an aggressive ride while Tuscon is meant for the highway.

Final Choice
Tuscon may be priced on the lower side but the features, interior and the feel of driving of Tiguan is overwhelming. You may have to pay a bit extra but Tiguan is definitely a take home and worth every penny spent.

No matter which models you choose, Volkswagen didn’t compromise on the comfort levels as both the editions have similar features. They feature front and rear seats made of Vienna leather, driver’s seat which can be adjusted electrically, 3-zone air conditioning with proper rear controls, gear shift knob covered with leather and heated front seats. However, Comfortline misses out on the keyless entry with a one push button start and easy open boot. Having an 8 speaker layout, both the models have Google android and apple car play connectivity.
As we know, safety is prioritized above everything in the Volkswagen breed; both the variants are loaded with features of 6 air bags, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, active hood for pedestrian safety and ESC. However, comfortline doesn’t have reverse parking camera and self- sealing tyres which highline bags on.
We test drove both the Comfortline and highline editions which is the best bet for those who want to go in for a luxurious premium which is a perfect combination of a decent SUV, safety, luxury and practicality.
